A standard electrician can work inside your property, but only a Level 2 Authorised Service Provider (ASP) can legally connect, disconnect or upgrade the supply between the network and your meter. Using the wrong electrician means the work can't be energised.

Common questions about Level 2 ASP work

What is a Level 2 electrician and why do I need one?

A standard (Level 1) electrician is licensed to work on the wiring inside your property, but only a Level 2 Authorised Service Provider (ASP) is authorised by the network distributor to work on the connection between the network and your meter. That includes connections, disconnections, the consumer mains, the point of attachment and metering. Using a non-ASP for this work is illegal and the distributor will not energise it.

Do you cover my area — Ausgrid or Endeavour Energy?
